I personally think "own/control your own data" being the punchline for most web3 products is at best extremely weak esp. when facing consumers. Consumers don't tend to optimize for "safety" when they are looking for fun. It's rarely ever the primary hook.

I think core value proposition will be the unique experiences that devs build on top of FC . Why devs build ? Cause FC is open and solving the cold start problem by doing the hard work of curating initial community so that other devs need not to.

other devs will always have to curate the community - transferring the social graph does not mean those members will instantly embrace the new app. i get the value prop but “devs don’t have go worry about curating the community” is not true.

Yea devs have to curate the community and differentiate via features to create unique experiences. But the toughest problem of liquidity (bootstrapping interesting content) is solved . Liquidity of not just he social graph but also content , likes et al .

i disagree. the toughest problem is not liquidity while building a social network - it’s the mechanic/retention, and “liquidity of content” is at best one of many elements that can be played with. i don’t buy that web3 social will instantly take off because of the mentioned benefits at all.
