whenever i use big groupchat, i can never keep up beyond a certain point. there was a product called threads that wanted to differentiate with threaded ui/ux away from slack to gain traction, but it did not end up succeeding. maybe that is the limitation of text based conversation as a medium. alt is a 1:n like x or reddit - closer to discussion forums if done topically
