why did ada happen do you think? charles convincing them we have an opportunity for a bitcoin ++ made in america the us can control ? xrp i can understand in a similar way and is less confusing to me

As I understand it (however poorly), Cardano is set up for a wider range of blockchain applications than financials: identity, for instance. If they want to build/incentivize any of those types of platforms, holding Ada makes sense.
