i prefer less words in principle, and No in this case.  

A: “no, let me try”
i liked that it said ‘let me try’. felt friendlier and safer (not as final as ‘no’)

B: “no”
quicker to see
less to process 

i’d change it to no, and change the question to get the vibe needed in some way w/o emoji.
