ethcc notes - nice meeting internet friends - panels boring, a few workshops and individual talks dece - non-fc people are genuinely intrigued by fc, but mostly in a detached curious way, not a “I need to get on that” kinda way - not unique to ethcc, but everyone loves talking about how many meetings they have - brussels walkability pleasant and saved me usual conf uber bill - saw a mugging, heard about several others - infra energy stale, defi and nft energy on life support, green shoots consumer energy but still too small to register - hardly an original point, but the sheer number of chains is dizzying - personally I find myself enjoying the events/talks where crypto tries to cross the chasm into the culture more than the hard tech events/talks

These are great notes, thank you for sharing. best culture talk? Why the sense of detachment about FC? Do people not see the value prop or are people just happy with the socials they have

on the fc point, I think people haven’t heard much about it in a few months and just think of it as an alt twitter. also the non stop builder energy is not enjoyable to many saw a few of these talks and quite enjoyed https://lu.ma/ep/ep-r4gGq7nnHJ?utm_source=email

so you think builder energy is harder to deal w/ mentally and you'd rather just have fun scrolling? i am confused and also support this. can it be both at the same time?

I think that for some people, this is the turn-off for fc, yes. it’s also a strength in some ways. the concentration of builder energy here is obviously much higher than on twitter
