bit.ly/4237ZBf if you're wondering why russia attacked Ukraine — it's this dictators don't start wars to win them they start wars to divert larger portion of wealth towards the most corrupt part of govmnt — military — so that their cronies can enrich themselves more

Or, maybe, possibly, Ukraine joining NATO was a red line 🤷🏾‍♂️

I don't see why any reason to doubt the obvious. The geography of Russia and Ukraine makes its a especially hard red line not even to mention the history. Guessing your American or live there at least, would love your view point on the Cuban missile crisis

Russia is a nuclear-triad state. They have no reason to fear a ground invasion from anywhere. Invading them is a death sentence.

Crossing their red line has turned out to be a death sentence unfortunately for the +100k Ukrainians and their economy

Irrelevant. The red line you’re talking about is the Zeihan/Mearsheimer red line - due the geography of the region Russia needs to control Ukraine for its security. I think that’s bogus, because of nuclear weapons.

The redline I'm talking about is Russias public redline. Same question as to OP, genuinely want to know from an American perspective what your thoughts are on the Cuban missile crisis and its parallels to Ukraine

I’m not American, but I support people’s right to self determination and association. If NATO was shipping nuclear missiles to Ukraine perhaps there’d be a parallel to the Cuban crisis. Instead Ukraine was seeking protection from Russia, and the only such protection is NATO.

FTR I am most certainly not pro Russia, I'm anti-bullshit The parallels are clear me OFC its not exactly the same The conflict started with the Maidan coup. America flipping a Russian puppet on its borders just like Batista and Castro, who also wanted protection from America Also Ukrainian NATO == nukes in Ukraine

Do you really believe America-under-Obama threw a coup in Ukraine? That’s pretty ridiculous. Obama was the dovish president towards Russia, perhaps ever.
