It's why I started investing in Tesla over a decade ago. There was a story flooding the media of a Tesla catching on fire after an accident. Thought to myself, why would a car catching on fire even be newsworthy (let alone national news)? Best investment decision I ever made.

I once watched a mustang burn to twisted wreck at a stop light in minutes. Didn't even make the local news, it's literally just a thing gasoline engines do sometimes. Same with batteries. Storing enough energy to hurtle tin cans at speed inherently will catch fire when containment mechanisms fail.
