One insight from this talk (h/t @eulerlagrange.eth) is that post dot com bubble, the sales led model of tech leadership (eg. John Sculley) gave way to the engineer founder / CEO (eg. Zuck) I suspect we’ll have a similar rotation in crypto, except from R&D / deep eng leaders to product folks https://youtu.be/JYYsXzt1VDc

this has already happened, no? feels like dorsey, spiegel, silberman, and even zuck are all product focused founders (though most are engineers also)

Oh definitely - the analogy wasn’t mean to be on a continuum I just meant that at peak euphoria of the industry, a certain role is over valued and then rotates into a more productive setup In crypto, it’s been the “prophet” style infra founder. Eg. Vitalik, Gav, Toly, Sreeram, etc This makes sense given the heavy infra and R&D focus. But it ought to rotate to the archetype more suitable for consumer products once we cross over from installation to deployment
