🌶️ stated vs revealed preferences 🌶️ People don't want to spend time maintaining assets. They just want them to work when they need them, and then get out of their way. For most, ownership is a means, not an end. the duality of subscriptions and purchases with debt/interest -- convergent evolution?

our house is riddled with things made for us by family/friends/ourselves - it's really nice owning those items since there's a story attached. a life goal of mine is to have a story for every item owned in our house. might as well subscribe to all other items.
