Interesting. I think you're probably overweighting the importance of decentralization in this context. 

e.g. an org being effective is significantly more valuable than the cost of being centralized

+ i think you can reasonably contend that the costs of centralization you delineate aren't A) common and/or B) specific to centralized orgs

Agree, I think "decentralization" has ceased to mean very much. It's just how you signal you're part of the crypto tribe.
