I think social tipping is an interesting idea, but ultimately it breaks social media IMO. This app interested me more without the added layer of $degen tipping, because communication that is incentivized by gain is inherently harder to trust and adds a layer of gamification that diminishes the social context.

I think there’s value in the concept but in current execution for $degen, $enjoy and others, it promotes “bad behavior” (read: behavior that degrades the experience of consuming networked content)

And also, as soon as the incentive becomes the conversation, overshadowing the content, it’s a clear indication that the incentive is not aligned behind the content, it’s aligned to incentivize incentivizing. A parasite latching on to the content that does the hard work of earning attention
