I think social tipping is an interesting idea, but ultimately it breaks social media IMO. This app interested me more without the added layer of $degen tipping, because communication that is incentivized by gain is inherently harder to trust and adds a layer of gamification that diminishes the social context.

I think if tipping is obscured from public view, along with the development of social norms, it’ll allow for tipping to be more of a discreet act of kindness between the tipper and tippee. Creates a lot of feed noise atm, and the high visibility of it causes more gaming the number imo.

I think there’s value in the concept but in current execution for $degen, $enjoy and others, it promotes “bad behavior” (read: behavior that degrades the experience of consuming networked content)
