there’s a clear lack of conversation around the channels stuff on farcaster. echo chambers are bad and we do a disservice to farcaster long term if we: - always agree 100% with what @dwr.eth says and does / dont hold people accountable - are afraid to speak out about things, specifically the larger accounts here

Bankless should have the channel “for the greater good” but they should have had to pay a premium. Squatters suck, but that’s part of an open free market no?

Yeah but what about channels in its current architecture suggests it’s an asset on some public ledger rather than a feature on a centralized client?

Being a feature on a centralized client doesn’t imo preclude it from being worth a premium. Is Mr. Beasts X account worth anything?

I understand what you’re saying but this kind of conversation misses the point. We can criticize the actions, but to expect otherwise is bizarre. I feel like people come here thinking it’s some completely blockchain based platform. It’s web2 with a little crypto which I like!

Oh yah. I’m not sure a pure web3 social would ever take off. It’d be the most insane convoluted place you could imagine. There MUST be guardrails until it big enough to set free. During that time, you won’t be able to make everyone. That’s where we’re at now.
