Unfortunately, my VWR on Prop690 ruffled some feathers, with an open letter to the DAO being posted (since deleted). Since it’s the weekend, I was rather late in viewing it. I believe it’s only fair to share the actual context so others don’t misconstrue the vote. https://hackmd.io/@pierre-coetzee/openletter

Clearly, I have hit a nerve here, and I apologise for that, but I stand by the VWR. I believe you've taken the comments out of context. If the DAO cannot learn from its mistakes, how are we expected to improve, grow, or succeed? The reasons for flagging 'niche' proposals are that we can't rely solely on the Nouns community (our bubble) for success; proposals need to appeal to a broader audience. Unfortunately, this has become apparent with Nouns Whisky and many other proposals. This was not an attack on yourself or Nouns Whisky rather more pointing out a flaw within the Dao. In regards to the 'flop' comment, a loose attempt at a performance pun. This was highlighting the current treasury value and the need to ensure that marketing and distribution plans for props are rock solid before execution. Unfortunately, running out of money is becoming much more of a reality now. In my opinion, calculated risks are required now more so than before for the DAO's success.

As for not supporting Nouns Whisky, I was the first one to try and help curate your proposal with the knowledge and experience I have in this field, but you decided not to take my recommendations. Regarding purchasing a barrel - both you and I have no idea what the tax implications would be. From my experience from importing other whiskeys, the Australian government loves to impose a large % on top. It's unfair to guilt me or anyone else into a purchase when we don't know what the financial outcome would be. 87Bones

Sounds like a retro comp proposal would be perfect here. Maybe even a noun or two to acknowledge their effort and commitment.
