What if our locus of control wasn’t directly behind our eyes? Interesting that our mind grew to present the world to our consciousness that way, rather than via e.g. a third person overheard view.

I don't know exactly what would change, but I'm certain our consciousness would undergo a huge transformation. In complex systems, even a tiny alteration in the components can lead to a butterfly effect.
