Straightforward pick: The cat in the hat

Oddball: just show the kid a series of flash cards with geometric shapes and say their names over and over 

Dark horse: Harry Potter in your second language

Lazy: whatever you’re reading, read it aloud, doesn’t really matter what the book is until 18 months
