As I understand it, it's the entire thread (ie, the thread tree). but @jacek would need to confirm. so the idea is to tip in places curators won't annul, like a Degenpad thread? or are they just hoping nested comments aren't included in the correction? Either way, props on the attempt 🤌

The ‘dedegen’ command removes tips from the message above the one you’re on, not from the main post. So, if you’re in a three-level thread and use ‘dedegen’ at the bottom level, it will remove tips from the second level, but the main post will still keep its tips.

Yeah to have to invalidate every single individual tip and require 5 people to all do it… seems like a lot and unlikely to happen (at least in my opinion)

Ok I think it’s not correct with the new info J gave us. I mean if I open the URL on a 5 downvotes cast, the de.degen commands are in tha cast, and not under tips replies. This mean the cast is not nerfed at all right?

yeah could be incorrect since most people probably didn't know exactly how the de.degen command worked. Haven't fully looked at the dashboard

As I understand it based on what @jacek said above. Here are two examples: /Example 1/ OG Cast by USER1 | +- TIPPER1: "100 DEGEN" | +- Mods: "dedegen" In this case the 100 DEGEN and all the other tips that USER1's cast received get disqualified. (assuming 5 Mods) /Example 2/ OG Cast by USER1 | +- TIPPER1: "100 DEGEN" | +- Mods: "dedegen" In this case USER1 keeps all tips even the 100 DEGEN by TIPPER1. BUT all tips that TIPPER1 would receive in the form of comments to his comments will be disqualified. I base this upon this Dune query: https://dune.com/queries/3908825 I will take a second look tomorrow bc Dune on mobile isn't very usable. Nevertheless, my current point of understanding is that dedegen ONLY works on the receiving end of a tip. You can disqualify the recipient to receive no tips from answers. But you can NOT disqualify single tips.
