my god san diego is so underrated 

why is this not common knowledge?

Encinitas is awesome, lmk if you need food recs for anywhere in sd

please do give

anywhere along the north part encinitas, solana beach, del mar…etc

Admittedly a lot of my favorite food is closer to SD proper, but for north coast:
- Pizza Port in Solana is pretty indispensable, good if you have the kiddos too
- lot of good options for burritos obviously - I like Roberto's in Solana, very no-frills though
- if you are into beer at all I think the Stone gardens in Escondido is worth the trip inland - prob 20-30 mins depending on where you are
- if you are doing any of your own cooking or want something fresh, I love Cardiff Seaside Market.
- My favorite restaurant in SD is Cucina Urbana on Balboa Park. Great for a date but also solid for the kids, and being right on Balboa it's beautiful, open, and there's plenty to do nearby.
- I feel compelled to tell you that my favorite burrito in town is at Don Carlos in La Jolla.
