as a family that moved from the middle east to CA. we find it harder to trust a local stranger to be a babysitter for 3 hours than it was trusting a stranger from another country to be a live-in nanny. still trying to explain this phenomena.

Maybe the local stranger at home felt more like family cuz you had more in common? Same language/culture/etc?
