and what's the problem with cosmetics? I realize that making blockchain more complicated is not the answer, but the economies of the games in Steam are doing quite well with it

no problem, just unnecessary for most games. see things like fortnite or something closer like csgo. why would these games go through the process of deploying a chain? they make plenty of money without them & the introduction of them will likely only do more harm than good due to friction and/or perception problems. if you go through the hassle of adding a chain, it’s probably only worth it if you intend to use it in novel ways like perpetual royalties or identity 4000 $DEGEN
