Today is an important day in computer history. For those who have talked to me for more than a minute, you've probably heard me compare the crypto industry to the hobbyist computer industry's path, drawing comparisons across the board. I want to take a moment and reflect on this excerpt from Jobs' Macintosh unveiling.

A key difference between the personal computer and blockchain, is that purchasers of PCs perceived the money spent as consumption. With blockchains, “purchasers” view the money spent as some type of redeemable investment. This view creates tremendous ideological stickiness as the cost of “progress” is 0-sum.
