In 1949, the Gallup Institute asked Americans what scientific advances they thought would be achieved in 1999.
88% ➡️  cancer would be cured,
 63% ➡️  airplanes would use nuclear energy 
and only 15% ➡️  a man would walk on the moon!

It may be concluded that the future is not what the majority thinks :)
