Free idea: a few years ago, someone told me they'd like to see a Nobel Prize equivalent for Ethereum, but it hasn't happened yet. The chain will turn 10 years old in ~18 months, which seems like great timing for this! It gives enough time to make it happen properly, too 😄

If I did it, I'd make it category-based, not a single prize. At the protocol layer, Geth is IMO the most impactful piece of software (probably true of the entire industry, surpassing bitcoin core). At the application level, the ERC20 standard?

EIP-1559 should be up there too. That old fee market was terrifying. And then if we ever had to cancel a nonce or just pray to get Uncled... yuck
