China has launched a project to create a space supercomputer. On May 14, the Long March 2D launch vehicle successfully launched from Jiuquan Cosmodrome, which launched 12 large‑scale satellites of the future (2,800 spacecraft) into orbit. It will be the world's first orbital computing network where data is processed directly in space, rather than on Earth. The satellites launched into space are equipped with remote sensors, and one of them is equipped with an X-ray polarimeter for studying gamma-ray bursts and other cosmic phenomena. Other technical specifications: 1. The computing power of the entire grouping is 5 POPS (peta operations per second). 2. 30 TB of distributed memory as storage. 3. Laser communication channels with speeds up to 100 Gbit/s for communication between satellites. Each satellite is equipped with a neural network with 8 billion parameters on board.
