Saw an interview with the founder ceo of a “big” startup talk about the challenges of building culture with remote work.

According to him, the challenge is that managers are unable take the team out for drinks 👀

From the guy’s talk, I’m not sure culture = drinks though.

Remote/hybrid work is something all startups should offer. Have quarterly or monthly offsites to build IRL relationships with your team. Maybe have the core founding team together.
