To date, AI has been a centralizing technology—most models run on private, centralized systems that are opaque to end users.

In crypto, a world where verification is paramount, and computation is expensive, current machine learning models simply don't meet the cut

Modulus is bridging this gap with zkML, which uses zero-knowledge cryptography to prove that the computation done by machine learning models was done correctly, extending the trust assumptions expected from  smart contracts to offchain models.

As @vitalik.eth wrote in 2014 about DAOs: “automation at the center, humans at the edges.” 

In that spirit, zkML allows AI to be  at the center of decentralized protocols, to automate manual processes often coordinated by humans today.
