Just doing a political temperature check on where people are at here on free speech questions. What’s the general attitude toward this attempt to deport a Columbia student protest leader without charging him with anything and despite the fact that he’s a lawful permanent resident?

Free speech should be absolutely nonpartisan. To use a popular quote: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it” A big red flag is the lack of an actual legitimate crime or charge. Far too often I see bluster about free speech that seems like confusion about private vs public platforms, but this case looks to be an actual free speech infringement & cause for concern. Palestine ≠ Hamas Judaism ≠ Israel ≠ Zionism (Though if you want, you can say that any of these things equal each other, as is your right)
