depends on the season but Tokyo ➡️ Hakone ➡️ Kyoto ➡️ Fukuoka + day trips in between or along the way. If you’re going late spring/summer Hokkaido is amazing.

I went to Kanazawa last year. It’s a very small town and it’s overflowing with tourists. It’s also decently far from Tokyo.
