a thick forest opens up into a fairytale valley, then a pristine glacial lake, and finally a granite class 2 or 3 scramble to a narrow peak

I need to make my way up to that area.  Maybe a long weekend trip next summer, I don't think my feet will be healed up in time to make it this year.

the whole North Cascades are stunning, it's 100% worth it. hoping they heal well for some big days next year!
