It's actually pretty bad afaict - there are some papers with numbers that show pretty solid correlation between areas that didn't have casinos and then legalized sports betting and the total household and credit debt and bankruptcy I know a lot of sports bettors who got worse, and anecdotally I bet more with an app

well in hockey it is quickly becoming the business model of the NHL and every third commercial is a sports betting commercial, so I actually agree with this take, especially in a down economy where people are more desperate
