I disagree with the premise that they’re far-left coded ideals What ideals / values / words would you use to describe these + far-left? What ideals / values / words would you use to describe right-leaning, that is in opposition?

open source = no intellectual property rights for intellectual work. CC0 = no intellectual property rights for creative work. public ledger = no privacy DAOs are bureaucratic clusters

both have been pretty bad the last 20 years or so but historically communism/communal movements have had more surveillance.

They’ve got nothing on the surveillance a lot of us take as normal w capitalism.. one of the differences maybe is how overtly intimidated/threatened people feel by it on a day to day basis, and how much it impacts decisions in day to day life.

Different situations. Obv the implications of (and reasons for) surveillance under capitalism aren’t the same as they were under communist USSR, but while the implications are different, the ways we are surveilled under capitalism are incredibly pervasive and insidious, not to mention privacy nightmares.
