I've stated a few times that I think Elon buying Twitter messed up Farcaster's anti-censorship, anti-institution value prop and they've struggled to find their footing ever since. Culturally both are very aligned with our current technocratic overlords too so the vibes are pretty much the same which is why there's no attempt at Blusky style outreach when people bounce from X. Team has financial incentives to not ostracize themselves from all kinds of things involving Elon, which is why there's no criticism, even though X is ostensibly a competitor. Is what it is but the big question is where do they go from here? Now that they've been paid via secondary on that big raise my guess would be some kind of acquisition? From X? Coinbase?

But X is now a cesspool of hate. At least I haven’t seen that here yet. But yes, the adoption of this platform is clearly not there yet.

that's because currently this is like the linkedin version of twitter so people don't post hate, they just post cringe

I don't have much cringe in my feed bc of the way I curate it, but then again maybe i am cringe, too (?)

The platforms are so different in how they gain my interest. Both are powerful and relevant. Both have aspects in which each is better. Elon Musk restored the powerful voice of free speech where anyone from anywhere can present their take as long as simple rules of respectful engagement are followed. I think Farcaster should concentrate on being the best Farcaster possible, and find a niche of interoperability that compliments yet sets apart. To try to compete or compare is not a position with high probability of victory. For any platform. The dude is landing two rockets at once for Gods sake. Let’s be honest. What’s coming next will be eye opening to say the least 👀. I mean um …I reckon 😉
