what if you could block someone across every messaging app? (going to try a warpcast thread 🧵)

up until now, we've just accepted that if you block someone on twitter, you have to manually find them on instagram or telegram (or whatever else) and block them there too. a little extra effort but whatever, it's just how these things work.

that, or you just accept that they'll be able to find you or message you there. but what if you have the option to block everywhere... from anywhere?

not only should you be able to have your block list portable across every messaging app (or social app that has a messaging component), you should also have your allow list persistent as well. every app should know who your friends are.

good news: all of this is now possible with @xmtp 's universal "allow" and "block" preferences. more here: https://community.xmtp.org/t/xip-42-universal-allow-and-block-preferences/544
