This is a frame based feed of APOD, NASA's Astronomy Photo of the Day It returns the latest APOD entry of the day. Learn about astronomy in feed and go to the APOD website itself if you want to I had previously wanted to make this as a Farcaster Bot, but realized that running a bot as a toy isn't that feasible on Farcaster unless you want to pay for more infra. So when the opportunity came to stand it up as a simple frame, why not - Uses NextJS, based off the Frames 2 tutorial. I have never touched NextJS prior to this project. - I made it in a handful of hours, the bulk of the time due to pitfalls I fell into that were one-time mistakes I won't do again. Easy for me to see how each next time gets faster, as I had to learn all about Frames deployment from scratch (there are some ... idiosyncrasies) - Uses 1/3 primary components of the Frames 2 SDK (Actions, to open the APOD home website). Does not use Context or Wallet. Challenge me, I don't think any of that is so hard I couldn't do it.

ty!! APOD is a classic. People from all over the world run mirrors of the feed in different languages and it was one of the first ever bots on Blue Sky. Needed some presence here too!

yea definitely needed! also if you already didn’t, you could add a daily notification that reminds you to open the new photo and the “add frame” button, if it’s not already added, so it’s easier to save it

I didn’t do either of those things but I will! I want to prove anyone can do it. I just pushed a little change to fix the display in WC mobile too
