Interesting since inflation is <3%. What I think most people mean is ‘prices’ - and those are notoriously sticky.

That's YoY. Remember post 2020 i'd say prices are on avg 25-30% higher on most things. And many would argue prices for services, insurance, rents in certain areas, food at restaurants are up 40-50% since 2020. This has been noted/questioned at Fed meetings and numerous Fed chairs
