What's the ideal split for someone who enjoys cardio/running more than lifting (weird, I know) -- focus on fat loss, muscle building. Getting the 10k steps a day in is anyway a non-negotiable, how much of that should be running?

I recently just switched from a PPL split to upper/lower so I can focus more on cardio & been liking it more so far. Cardio day between each lifting day lets you hit 2 upper lifts, 2 lower lifts and 3-4 cardio days in 8 day stretch. Lifts have still been progressing at same pace w less volume too

I've been doing PPL and a 30 minute cardio (zone 2 running) in a separate session. While its not always going to be ideal doing a cardio session in the morning & then workout sometime in the evening - the routine has become very enjoyable

for fat loss, as long as you are on a caloric deficit, that's settled just do resistance training and running on different days. the schedule is something you'll have to experiment as you know yourself best. "the best split is the split that you can consistently adhere to"
