Financial crises aside, I can't see the AI bubble popping any time soon. The essential difference to dot com is that AI tech is ready, real, and working. Whereas dot com wasn't any of those.

That said money will certainly be thrown at hopeless ventures that lack imagination or long term vision, which fuels bubbles.
