William Turner (J.M.W. Turner) was an English painter of the 19th century and one of the most prominent representatives of Romanticism and Impressionism. He was born on April 23, 1775 in London and died on December 19, 1851. Turner is known for his paintings of natural landscapes, seascapes, and lightning, and is recognized as one of the pioneers of modern styles for his innovative use of light and color.
