White House Cryptocurrency and AI Chief David Sachs Says He Doesn't Own Any Digital Assets Because He Sold Them Before Donald Trump's Inauguration

"I sold all my cryptocurrency, including BTC, ETH, and SOL, before the administration began," Sachs said on March 2.

His comment was a response to a Financial Times article by journalist George Hammond, which stated that Sachs' investment firm, Craft Ventures, continues to own stakes in a number of cryptocurrency startups.

"Both Sachs and his firm divested their direct crypto assets shortly after Trump's inauguration," the FT notes, citing a source.

Founded in 2017 in San Francisco, Craft Ventures has launched four investment funds, the most recent of which raised $712 million last November.

According to its official website, the company's portfolio includes Bitwise Asset Management, cryptocurrency provider BitGo, and tech giants Meta, Reddit, and X. In addition, in 2018, Sachs invested in the Solana-focused venture capital firm Multicoin Capital.
