What is the SEC accusing Consensys of? 😨

Consensys lawyer Bill Hughes announced the other day that the hearing in their case against the SEC will run from July 29 to November 26 this year. What is the gist of the SEC's next accusations? We tell you about it in the post.

🔸 The SEC is suing Consensys for operating as an unregistered securities broker since 2020 and selling securities via steering, including through Lido and Rocket Pool services, since January 2023. 

🔸 The Consensys previously sued the SEC over its attempt to equate ETH with a security and urged the court to approve language for the asset that would not treat it as such. 

🔸 Now the SEC wants to enjoin Consensys from violating federal securities laws in the future, as well as levy fines against the company.
