If buying a single unit costs me $0.10, a large portion goes to the creator and I don't ever plan to sell because I'm happy with the memento, then it's not zero sum. 

Not saying that's the reality on the ground today, but it's possible that people shift their point of view.

my first experience of buying cointent was @blankspace's 'lower' bc i loved the image. flow was

- like content
- want to buy to support creator / own memento
- go to buy 'one' but i want to give blank more than pennies, buy some goofy large round number instead
- it blows up, wow its worth a bunch
- dont sell any bc i wanted to support and remember, not flip
- price tanks, wow that sucks i shouldve sold
- see it as a loss instead of what i bought it for

worth remembering that adding price adds all the negatives of bad price

reminds me of the idea of the deepest psyop. you secretly hire your nemesis through a shell company to do the thing they love most in this world. but slowly you pay them less and less, devalue what they love, and they will come to hate it like an albatross. no idea where i heard this but feels so true
