I used to dread going to hospitals when I was younger. I would go to great lengths to pretend I was fine, just to avoid being taken there. But then came the day I fell seriously ill and nearly died. The diagnosis? Acute malaria. 

I spent a week in the hospital, and that experience is where my phobia of needles originated. However, living in the hospital for those days instilled a deep appreciation in me. 

Good health is truly underrated, and I’ve learned to value it immensely.
