Since the mainnet launch in October 2023, the project has undergone two technical upgrades. The Darwin upgrade in August 2024 reduced gas fees by 1.7 times; the zk library upgrade in October reduced gas fees by another 1.5 times.

Scroll Sessions was launched in April 2024, and TVL (total locked value) increased significantly, consolidating its position as the number one ZK chain in TVL (as of September 15, 2024, TVL reached US$1.15 billion), surpassing Linea, zkSync, Starknet, Taiko and Polygon zkEVM.
