Just learned today that in some countries like Philippines they mark your finger with ink so that you’re done with voting for this week. Amazing old school approach made me think deep about all elections I ever voted in - In Russia I had to show my id and can vote only where I live. Looks solid if you don’t know that there are dead people lists and fresh travelers lists. Dead ones vote “out of hours” (committee handles it). Fresh names playing carousel and travel voting spots on fab buses to vote you know for whom. - In the UK I say my name and address. If I’m on the list, I vote. Nobody checks who I am (or Scotland folks is it). Fun approach but kinda working. Haven’t heard of major fraud here, unless you count Facebook and Brexit but it’s a good propaganda use case. - And Philippines ink on finger is such a simple cool solution for carousel or fake id problems. And this led me again to the one simple thought: why the fck we don’t implement blockchain voting right fcking now
