Interesting. So Ethereum is using kzg as vector commitment in verkle trees (which we will talk about in next video). But it seems you can also use ipa instead (which I didn’t know about).

my understanding is that ethereum will use IPAs and hence won’t need pairings or a trusted setup but, yes, you could implement verkle tries with KZG (from the post I shared above)

You got me investigating. I looked at several repos and they have both ipa and crs in dependencies, but no kzg. I do remember a ceremony for verkle trees though last year. I guess it went unused or crs is used for sth else. Will digg deeper before next movie.

Exactly. Mu understanding is blobs use kzg based verkle trees.
