I really want this industry to succeed and show mainstream consumers the benefits of things being onchain... but we *really* need to stop chugging the Kool-Aid and hyping up unrealistic UXs that will never be tolerated by the masses It's such an echo chamber sometimes it's frustrating

I think it's worth taking a peek at. I've heard it come up in a few trusted places. It's the team from Facebook's 2019 crypto team (Diem I believe)? I've resonated with a lot of what they preach, but I'm newer to the industry and may be falling for buzzword hype (at least that's what everyone tells me). For example, they: - refer to eth at the dial up of crypto - scoff when asked about poaching current web3 devs -> "there's more devs in facebook than all of web3, we will onboard web2 devs not web3 devs) - object oriented programming language (what everyone is used to in web2) - use parallelized txns for insane speed - native support for SMS/Google/Twitch as a wallet (implies password recovery for wallets) - Google as a sponsor for hackathon in Dubai (not sure how many chains can boast Google as sponsor?) idk lots of small things that appear to resonate with my current feelings with eth-bois
