Going to start a job search thread to a) hold myself accountable, b) document and share my learnings, and c) have a fun time capsule to look back on

/new-york by day 🗽 /untzuntz by night 😈 Fan of eating tacos and bringing people together, often at the same time 🌮

Some notes so far:

– Using Notion to track companies, surprised there's still not something better (or at least I haven't heard of it)

– LinkedIn is still a performative, self-congratulatory cesspool although I admit I'll likely have to lean on it at least a little bit (data moats are strong)

– Prospect is cool, I like the concept, tbd how useful it is

– Breakout List seems to have really fallen off (curation is hard)

I think deep down I want to pursue VC or product roles but I keep coming back to engineering because I feel some amount of imposter syndrome

That's pretty ironic since I never meant to get into eng in the first place and only did because at the time I thought learning to code would help me land a product role

It's been interesting to switch from a maker schedule to a manager schedule as I lean into this search

I think I prefer the latter since talking to people energizes me but been doing the former for awhile now while building and always felt guilty if I slipped into manager mode
