Message previews would be super useful here so that I can see which requests I might want to accept at a glance

Mutual followers is also useful information but not a strong enough signal on its own

We had them before. 

I get a lot of message requests (here and Twitter), the single most useful signal is mutuals. Content preview is too short most of the time.

Make it longer? Two lines is usually a decent enough preview for me to decide which ones to prioritize opening

I think there’s this aversion to make cells too large but if this inbox is something that’s designed to be cleared + old content gets bumped down anyway, I don’t think there’s a downside to adding more context

Yes, ideal would be preview + swipe action

I have been bad about clearing that inbox because I wish I could just archive instead of having to delete or respond since it’s nice to have the context in case they message me again in the future

Are you clearing it or not?

If you’re clearing, you have to click through anyway?

If not, then it doesn’t matter?

If you have a delete action on the inbox, agree that preview is important, fwiw

So if the request is preview + 1 click action from inbox then that makes more sense.
