Another reason I dislike the recent channels update to these sort of gated communities is that it freezes subcultures to a given point in time. How exactly do you join a new channel now? It multiplies gatekeepers instead of removing the middlemen.

totally agree! it's like they’re trying to put everyone in a box. makes it so hard to discover new stuff or connect with different vibes. 😩
