Tokyo-based Metaplanet has indeed added almost 22 more #Bitcoin to its treasury. This move aligns with their strategy to increase their #Bitcoin holdings, as they previously announced a plan to acquire an additional $6 million worth of BTC. The recent purchase of approximately 20.2 $BTC for ¥200 million yen ($1.2 million) brings their total Bitcoin holdings to 161.3 $BTC.

📉 Bitcoin and the crypto market slumped in June as trading on centralized exchanges dropped 17% MoM. BTC fell 5%, and the total market cap lost billions. Binance's spot trading dipped 22%, while Coinbase lost its #2 spot to Bybit. Interestingly, MEXC and HTX saw increases in activity. Crypto derivatives trading also down 19%.

Australian court convicts John Bigatton, BitConnect promoter, of providing unlicensed financial advice between 2017 and 2018. Aussie John Louis Anthony Bigatton, the national promoter of the BitConnect Ponzi scheme, has been convicted by the Sydney District Court of providing unlicensed financial advice, the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) said on Monday. In the Jul. 15 press release, the regulator said that Bigatton was released on a “recognisance to be of good behaviour for three years” after promoting BitConnect in Australia “in seminars and on social media” between late 2017 and early 2018.
